Session 1: Intro - Why We Need to Grow in Prayer

Prayer is not an optional add-on to the Christian life. It is the lifeline of our relationship with God and the place where faith becomes real and personal. In this opening session we explore why prayer matters so deeply and why every follower of Jesus must learn to grow in it.

Session 2: Teach Us To Pray

When the disciples watched Jesus, one thing stood out above everything else: his life of prayer. They knew they were meant to follow him and do what he did, but they realized the source of his life and power was his relationship with the Father. So they asked the simple request that launches this series: “Lord, teach us to pray.”

Session 3: Prayer is Being With God

At its heart, prayer is not primarily about saying the right words. Prayer is about being with God. In this session we explore how prayer begins in God’s presence—learning to slow down, become attentive, and simply be with the One who loves us.

Session 4: Prayer Starts With a Who

Because prayer is a relationship, the foundation of prayer is not technique but trust. Many people approach God like a distant boss or a disappointed judge, but Jesus teaches us to come to God as Father. In this session we explore how a secure relationship with God transforms the way we pray.

Session 5: Prayer Is Talking to God

If prayer is conversation with God, what do we actually say? Rather than praying from the poverty of our own emotions and ideas, Scripture invites us to pray from the riches of God’s Word. In this session we learn how the Bible gives language and direction to our prayers.

Session 6: Prayer Is Listening to God

Every real relationship includes both speaking and listening. Yet many Christians have never learned how to recognize God’s voice in prayer. This session explores how God speaks and how we can grow in attentiveness and discernment as we listen.

Session 7: Prayer Is Standing Between Heaven & Earth

One of the greatest privileges given to human beings is to stand before God on behalf of others. In intercession we stand in the gap between God’s promises and the brokenness of the world. As we pray, we participate with God in bringing his kingdom into reality.
