Our Mission

To Stir and Equip the New England Church to Seek and Steward Awakening through Extraordinary Prayer, Visible Unity, and Strategic Preparation.

Seeking Awakening: Altars of Prayer & Worship

As a catalyst, steward and observer of the revival in the Scottish Hebrides in the 1940’s, Duncan Campbell famously offers this observation and exhortation:

For revival to come, God’s fire must fall on four altars: Heart, Home, Church and Region.

By the term “altar” Campbell does not mean a literal place where sacrifice is offered in an Old Testament sense, or even a physical space or sanctuary. Rather, “altar” in this use is a metaphor for the spaces and cultures of extraordinary prayer that emerge when we set ourselves to seek God and His Kingdom.

An altar is what happens when the inclination to seek the Lord crosses a threshold and becomes visible commitment. Individuals can build altars; so can families and churches, ultimately engaging the “Big C” Church, in an entire city or region.

Prayer Altars + Learn More

Extraordinary, Kingdom prayer roots and expresses itself in Extraordinary, Kingdom unity.

This is the reason that the keystone initiative for Revive New England is the New England Revival Covenant, inviting public commitment to unity in prayer as a regional Church as we contend, shoulder to shoulder, for Revival and Awakening in our time.

Stewarding Awakening: Leadership & Capacity Building

It’s not enough just to WANT to see Revival, or even to earnestly ASK the Lord to bring it about; as church leaders we need to PREPARE for Revival.

The truth is that if the Lord were to answer our prayers tomorrow and move in a generation-defining manner, most of our ministries and systems would simply be crushed! Formed by decades of spiritual decline, we have not developed the pastoral capacity or discipleship pathways capable of faithfully stewarding outpouring or awakening.

Our mission at Revive New England is not only to faithfully, prayerfully SEEK the Lord for awakening, but to help equip the Church to STEWARD it when it comes.
