Joel 2: Dreams and Visions from God
Scripture
Joel 2:28–32 (NIV)
“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”
Scripture Reflection
God has always spoken through dreams and visions, from Joseph in Egypt to Daniel in Babylon, to Peter and Paul in the New Testament. In Joel’s prophecy, God promises that in the last days the outpouring of His Spirit will release supernatural revelation to all generations — young and old, men and women, across every social barrier.
We live in an age of confusion and distraction, yet God still longs to communicate with His people. Dreams and visions can bring guidance, warning, encouragement, and fresh vision for God’s purposes. As we seek revival, we should expect God to speak in these ways again — igniting faith, inspiring mission, and revealing His heart.
Let’s ask God to awaken the Church in New England to hear His voice through dreams and visions, empowering us to boldly follow where He leads.
Praying it UP / IN / OUT
UP: Praise God for being a living, speaking God who still communicates today.
IN: Ask God to sharpen your spiritual ears and open your heart to receive His dreams and visions.
OUT: Pray that believers across New England — young and old — would receive and faithfully steward dreams and visions that advance the gospel and spark revival.
Closing Prayer
God who speaks,
We thank You that You have not gone silent but still reveal Yourself to Your people. We long to hear Your voice in fresh ways.
Pour out Your Spirit again on sons and daughters, young and old. Give dreams in the night, visions in the day, prophetic words that stir courage, repentance, and hope.
Help us discern what is from You and to walk in faithful obedience. May dreams and visions lead us closer to Jesus and empower us for Your mission.
Release a new wave of supernatural revelation in New England — not for our fame, but for Your Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
