Acts 2: Unity Among Church Leaders

Scripture

Acts 2:42–47

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Scripture Reflection
As we enter the season after Pentecost, we remember that the outpouring of the Spirit did not only empower individuals — it formed a unified, Spirit-filled community. The early Church modeled a devotion to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. They shared their lives, their resources, and their hearts in such profound unity that God’s presence and power rested tangibly among them.

That same kind of unity is desperately needed among church leaders today. In times of revival, God knits leaders together across traditions and cultures, creating networks of trust, humility, and shared purpose. Disunity among leaders weakens the witness of the gospel, but a united Church shows the world what Jesus is like.

The believers in Acts were together — one heart, one mind, one mission. Their unity was a sign that the Spirit was truly among them. As we pray for revival, let us also pray for supernatural unity among pastors, elders, ministry leaders, and networks — that we would love one another deeply, defer to one another generously, and stand together for the glory of Christ.

Praying it UP / IN / OUT

UP: Worship God for His wisdom in designing the Church to be one Body, reflecting the unity of Father, Son, and Spirit.

IN: Ask the Spirit to remove any pride, rivalry, or fear from your own heart that might damage relationships with other believers and leaders.

OUT: Intercede for church leaders across New England — that the Spirit would bind them together in humility, friendship, and Kingdom-minded collaboration.

Closing Prayer

God of perfect unity,

We praise You as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — forever one, forever in loving fellowship. Thank You for designing Your Church to mirror that same oneness.

Forgive us for the ways we have divided, competed, or mistrusted one another.

Heal old wounds. Remove suspicion.

Pour out a spirit of love and collaboration.

Unite church leaders across New England — across denominations, cultures, and generations — so that Your gospel shines with power and authenticity.

Make us one, Lord, as You are One.

Amen.
