Money might “make the world go round,” but FAITH is the Currency of Heaven

Since surrendering my life to Jesus, I’ve often reflected on the realities of the Kingdom of God as a sort of ‘Alice in Wonderland’, where everything is upside down and backwards, relative to worldly logic. The world says “the more you give, the less you have,” while the Lord tells us it is more blessed to give than receive (Acts 20:35). Jesus explained that to save our lives, we must be willing to lose them for His sake (Matthew 16:25). The Gospel is not only counter-cultural; it invites us to operate in a way that is entirely SUPERNatural.

Countless scriptures instruct us on healthy protocols regarding resources. Jesus reminds us that our Father in Heaven knows what we need and is faithful to provide in abundance (Matthew 6:8). But how do we position ourselves to receive all that God has promised?

The answer is faith.

By faith in what Jesus did, we are saved. By faith in His Word, we are transformed. By faith in His promises, we access the riches of Heaven; everything we need for life and godliness is ours in Christ (2 Peter 1:3). We are saved by believing in Him, and we are empowered by believing as He believes. This is the gift of faith.

In this hour of unprecedented darkness, the Church is called to rise as a "City on a Hill" (Matthew 5:14-16)—a people who will not be shaken (Hebrews 12:28). We are called to do the works that Jesus did. He even promised we would do greater works because He was ascending to the Father and sending His Spirit to empower us (John 14:12).

Hebrews 11:6 tells us that “without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

When we write a physical check, we do so based on faith in the account balance. Likewise, God invites us to write "checks" with our prayers that place a demand on His promises. We do this in full faith that those checks will clear because the One who "owns the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalms 50:10) is faithful to back us up.

Is the Church in New England filled with "unbelieving believers"? Time is short. Let’s humble ourselves and make way for the King of Glory to come in. Perhaps the most honest prayer we can pray is: “I do believe Lord, help my unbelief.” He will surely answer.
